When “Decentralized” Runs on Amazon.
An AWS outage just froze Coinbase, Trust Wallet, and half the internet. ☁️💥
It’s almost poetic — one hiccup in Amazon’s US-EAST-1 data center, and suddenly everything from Snapchat to $COIN to Robinhood goes dark. Even “decentralized” crypto apps felt it. The irony wasn’t lost on anyone — Twitter was full of jokes about how Web3 still bows to Big Tech’s cloud gods.
It’s a wake-up call, franchement. We keep talking about freedom, sovereignty, and decentralization, but most of the crypto infrastructure still breathes through centralized pipes. AWS sneezes, and half of DeFi catches a cold. 🤧
Until we build real independence — nodes, storage, and compute outside the cloud oligopoly — decentralization remains an aspiration, not a reality. Time to walk the talk, pas vrai?
