Washington just tilted slightly pro-crypto.
A new CFTC chair, softer regulation vibes, and a big signal for the future of US crypto policy.
The US Senate has approved Michael Selig as the new head of the CFTC. He’s known as openly crypto-friendly, with a taste for clearer, lighter rules. He previously worked at the SEC and helped shape its digital asset policy — so this guy knows both camps. ⚖️
And timing matters. In January, lawmakers are set to debate the Clarity Act, which would split crypto regulation between the SEC and the CFTC. With Selig at the CFTC — and another pro-crypto figure already leading the SEC — the tone in Washington is clearly shifting.
This doesn’t mean paradise. Regulation is still regulation. But compared to the fog, threats, and mixed messages of the last years, this feels… calmer. More adult. Like regulators finally admitting crypto isn’t going anywhere and deserves rules that actually make sense. Enfin.
From my terrace perspective in the south, this looks less like hype and more like groundwork. And groundwork is how real cycles begin. 🌅🧡
