In September 2025, the U.S. Federal Reserve released a research paper on the strategy Harvest Now, Decrypt Later (HNDL) — a chilling concept where attackers collect encrypted data today to decrypt it later using future quantum computers.
The study uses $BTC as a prime example, analyzing how such an approach could impact blockchains built on classical cryptography. The scary part?
