The secret harvest.
Why quantum computers threaten Bitcoin’s privacy 🧠⚡️

In September 2025, the U.S. Federal Reserve released a research paper on the strategy Harvest Now, Decrypt Later (HNDL) — a chilling concept where attackers collect encrypted data today to decrypt it later using future quantum computers.

The study uses $BTC as a prime example, analyzing how such an approach could impact blockchains built on classical cryptography. The scary part? Even if we roll out post-quantum encryption in time, it won’t protect old data — blockchain’s immutability means the past stays exposed once quantum tech gets strong enough.

Experts (including the folks at Mixer.Money) suggest several proactive moves for users: rotating addresses more often, avoiding address reuse, using mixers and privacy layers, and exploring quantum-safe wallets.

We may still be years away from “Q-Day,” but when it comes, the ones who protected their footprints early will sleep better. The blockchain never forgets — so better start whispering, not shouting 🕵️‍♂️
