The old hands are letting go of their $BTC.

The old hands are letting go of their $BTC.
2024–2025 marked the largest release of long-term bitcoin supply ever, a silent handover from early believers to a new generation.
I’ve been watching this with mixed feelings, not gonna lie. According to CryptoQuant, we’re seeing the biggest movement of long-held $BTC in history. Coins that slept for years are finally waking up — and changing pockets.
This isn’t panic selling. It feels more like a generational shift. Early holders, the ones who mined or bought when nobody cared, are slowly passing the torch. Some cash out to enjoy life, some rebalance, some just say “enough, I’ve won.” Respect.
On the other side, new owners step in. ETFs, funds, institutions, and also a fresh wave of retail who didn’t live through Mt. Gox or 2018. Different psychology, different time horizons. Bitcoin is no longer a secret club — it’s becoming infrastructure.
What matters is this: distribution. When supply spreads, volatility can spike short term, but long term it builds resilience. Bitcoin stops depending on a small group of ultra-early holders. It matures. It grows up.
From my terrace, watching the sea, it feels like one of those moments you only understand later. Not a top. Not a bottom. A transition. Tranquille.
The real question now: will the new holders have the same patience as the old ones? Or will they learn it the hard way? 🌊
