Tether dreams of a Bitcoin future.
USDT is temporary — $BTC is the endgame, says Paolo Ardoino.
Read this over my morning espresso, and franchement, it’s bold: Tether’s CEO Paolo Ardoino says that in 50 years the world may no longer need USDT at all — because the “perfect money,” in his words, is $BTC.
He explains it simply: USDT exists to make dollars portable and usable in places where banks fail people. And in high-inflation countries, it has literally become a survival tool. But zoom out to a multi-decade horizon, and Tether is preparing for a world where Bitcoin becomes the primary global currency — not a hedge, not digital gold, but the money.
From my sunny corner in the south, I love this mix of realism and vision. Stablecoins for now, $BTC forever. It’s almost poetic: the bridge knows it’s just a bridge.
Whether we get there in 50 years or 150, the idea that even the world’s biggest stablecoin issuer is planning for a Bitcoin-native future says a lot about where this whole crazy journey might lead. 🌞⚡️
