Sun vs WLFI just turned ugly.

Justin Sun says WLFI locked his tokens, hid blacklist logic, and ran governance like a black box.

This one smells bad from every angle 🤨

Justin Sun is now openly accusing World Liberty Financial, the Trump-family DeFi project, of doing exactly what crypto was supposed to move away from: opaque control behind the curtain.

The ugly part is not just the public fight. It’s the timeline. According to onchain findings, blacklist functionality was added to the smart contract in August 2025, long after Sun had already invested. On top of that, his wallet allegedly got its own custom vesting category, with special parameters nobody really understood from the outside. Then 55 million tokens were moved, his address was frozen, and around 80% of his allocation stayed locked with no clean unlock schedule. Since the token price dropped, the paper loss is massive 💸

And honestly, that’s where the whole “DeFi” label starts to feel a bit fragile. If a project can quietly add blacklist mechanics, isolate one investor with custom rules, and keep key controls hidden, then we’re not talking about open finance anymore. We’re talking about a gated system wearing a DeFi costume.

What makes it even worse is the context. WLFI was already taking heat for using 5 billion of its own tokens as collateral for a $250 million loan through Dolomite. So now the market is not just questioning risk management. It’s questioning whether the whole structure was built on soft trust and hard control. Pas très propre, frankly.

My feeling? This is the kind of story that reminds everyone why smart contract transparency is not some nerdy side topic. It is the foundation. In crypto, once users start wondering who really controls the switches, confidence disappears much faster than liquidity 🌊
