S&P 500 just crossed 7000, quietly historic.

For the first time ever, the S&P 500 broke above the 7000 mark — and somehow it feels both euphoric and uneasy.

On paper, this is pure celebration. New highs, strong momentum, wealth effect everywhere. But context matters. Rates are still high, debt is massive, geopolitics are messy — and yet equities keep floating up like nothing can touch them.

To me, this smells like liquidity doing the heavy lifting. Not productivity miracles. Not some new economic golden age. Just capital looking for a home, scared of cash, skeptical of bonds, and still trusting equities by default.

What I always find fascinating is the contrast. While the S&P prints 7000, people still call crypto risky. Meanwhile, stocks at ATHs are considered “safe”. Drôle d’époque.

This doesn’t mean a crash is imminent. It just means we’re deep into a regime where asset prices matter more than narratives. And in those moments, diversification stops being a meme and starts being survival.

Congrats to the index. But I’m watching with one eyebrow raised.
