SEC eyes first $SEI ETF proposal. 🦅

So here’s the big one: Canary Capital has officially filed for a Canary Staked $SEI ETF to be listed on Cboe BZX Exchange. The SEC just accepted the application for review. That doesn’t mean approval yet — but it’s the first step in the long, bureaucratic dance.

Why is this huge? ETFs open the gates for traditional investors to gain exposure without touching wallets, staking, or DeFi headaches. And in this case, it’s not just a spot play — the proposal specifically mentions a staked $SEI ETF. That means yield mechanisms could be part of the structure, something totally new in the ETF space. 🤯

Of course, don’t expect fireworks overnight. The SEC will take its sweet time — consultations, comments, revisions. But just the fact that $SEI is being considered alongside the likes of $BTC and $ETH ETFs? Ça change le game.

Personally, I see this as validation. $SEI isn’t just another layer-1 fading into the background — it’s on the radar of big finance now. And trust me, institutions love the idea of “yield with compliance.” 🏦
