Money, mistakes, and CZ’s truth.

Money, mistakes, and CZ’s truth.

CZ opens up in Money Freedom, sharing Binance’s rise, brutal lessons, and raw moments from the wildest years of crypto.

I always find it interesting when someone like Changpeng Zhao steps back and decides to tell his own story. Not a thread, not an interview… a full book. It hits different. You can feel there’s a need to reshape the narrative — or maybe just to finally breathe after years of chaos.

In Money Freedom, CZ doesn’t just replay the glory days of Binance. He leans into the uncomfortable parts too — regulators breathing down his neck, the pressure of running the biggest exchange in the world, and those moments where even he got it wrong.

And honestly, those mistakes are the most human part of the whole story. Missing early $ETH? Painful, but understandable. Not taking profits on LUNA before it collapsed? That one… you can almost feel the regret through the page. Every crypto guy has at least one story like that, just usually smaller. 😅

Then there’s the part about Sam Bankman-Fried — asking for billions “seriously” on a call. It sounds surreal, but if you lived through that era, it also sounds weirdly on-brand. The line between genius and madness was razor-thin back then.

What I respect is that all proceeds go to charity. In a space where ego and money often take center stage, that choice feels… different. Maybe it’s legacy thinking. Maybe it’s redemption. Maybe both.

But beyond the stories, this book is a reminder: even at the top, nobody plays this game perfectly. The difference is just scale — the wins are bigger, the mistakes are louder, and the lessons… much more expensive.

Ça fait réfléchir. 🌊
