Mining $BTC while taking a hot shower.
Superheat unveils a home water heater that mines Bitcoin using heat you already pay for 🚿⚡️
This is one of those ideas that makes you smile and think “of course someone would try this.” The company Superheat just presented the H1: a 190-liter home water heater with mining chips inside. The heat produced by computation warms your water, and the same process mines $BTC. Simple, elegant, almost poetic.
According to the manufacturer, the H1 consumes roughly the same amount of electricity as a normal electric water heater. The twist? The mined $BTC can partially — or in some cases fully — offset your electricity bill. You heat water anyway, so why not stack sats at the same time?
What I find really interesting is the long-term vision. Superheat says the device could also be used for cloud or AI computations, opening the door to flexible, home-based compute infrastructure. Heat is no longer wasted — it’s monetized.
This isn’t about getting rich overnight. It’s about rethinking energy, incentives, and everyday objects. Mining disappears into daily life. Invisible, useful, quietly rebellious. Pas mal du tout.
If this works at scale, the idea of “wasted heat” might start feeling very old-fashioned 🔥
