MetaMask rolls out $10K insurance & premium support.
New subscription adds protection and priority help.
Just finished reading MetaMask’s latest update under the warm evening light here in the south, and mon ami, this one feels like a real shift for wallet users. They’re launching Transaction Shield — a subscription that bundles insurance up to $10,000 per month plus priority support, all for $9.99/month or $99/year. 🦊💼
What’s cool is how it works: the app flags transactions it considers safe, and anything within that category is covered if things go sideways. But don’t confuse it with full-blown crypto insurance — it won’t protect you from wallet compromise, market volatility, slippage, or protocol bugs. Still, for everyday DeFi moves, NFT interactions, and airdrops across networks like $ETH, Arbitrum, Optimism, Polygon, $BNB Chain, Avalanche, Base, Linea, and Sei… it’s a welcome safety net.
For now, it’s only in the browser extension — mobile users will have to wait a bit. And there’s a 14-day free trial, which is nice if you just want to see whether the shield actually gives you peace of mind or just another subscription notification.
From my chair overlooking the sea, I can’t help thinking this is one more step toward crypto feeling a bit more like traditional finance — but with that Web3 flavor we love. A little protection never hurt, surtout in this wild market. 🌊🛡
