London court sentences China’s “Crypto Queen.”
11 years and 8 months for laundering $6.4B through Bitcoin 👑💰
In one of the largest crypto-related cases in UK history, Chinese businesswoman Zhiming Qian — dubbed the “Crypto Queen of China” — has been sentenced to 11 years and 8 months in prison for laundering $6.4 billion via $BTC.
Investigators found she had converted the savings of thousands of elderly investors — poured into her fake tech company — into Bitcoin. Back in 2018, UK police seized 61,000 BTC from her wallets, marking the biggest crypto confiscation ever in Britain.
After fleeing China, Qian lived lavishly in London’s high-end districts, using assistants to swap Bitcoin for cash and real estate. A separate asset distribution hearing is set for 2026 — the seized Bitcoin has since grown over 20× in value, making restitution a complex battle among victims and intermediaries.
The irony? Even behind bars, her frozen fortune is worth billions.
