Kazakhstan launches pilot stablecoin $KZTE.
The National Bank of Kazakhstan just rolled out a pilot for its own stablecoin, Evo ($KZTE), pegged to the tenge 🇰🇿. What’s interesting is the setup: it’s being issued together with local exchange Intebix and Eurasian Bank, and it runs on $SOL’s blockchain.
This isn’t just another CBDC experiment locked in some dusty central bank lab. By putting it on $SOL, they’re clearly aiming at real-world usage — fast transfers, easy integration, maybe even cross-border flows. Kazakhstan has been flirting with crypto for years, sometimes restrictive, sometimes open. This move feels like a concrete pas en avant toward bridging TradFi with blockchain rails.
For $SOL, it’s another strong use case beyond DeFi and memecoins — showing it can host state-level financial experiments. Imagine if more countries test stablecoins on public chains instead of private, closed systems. That could really change the game.
