deUSD collapses 97% overnight.
Another stablecoin bites the dust 💀💸
The so-called stablecoin $deUSD has crashed from $1 to just $0.02 in less than 24 hours after revelations that most of its reserves were tied to Stream Finance — the same project recently hit by a massive exploit.
Roughly 65% of deUSD’s collateral (~$68M) was locked in Stream as a loan. When news broke of $93M in losses, panic spread like wildfire, and the peg evaporated almost instantly.
It’s yet another reminder that “stability” in DeFi often depends on the weakest link in a long, leveraged chain. When one piece breaks, the whole structure shakes.
