BNB Chain aims to cut gas & speed up blocks. ⚡️
Validators on $BNB Chain are pushing a proposal to drop the minimum gas fee from 0.1 → 0.05 Gwei and shorten block times from 750ms → 450ms. Basically: faster, cheaper, smoother.
Past reductions (from 3 → 1 Gwei, then 1 → 0.1) already slashed fees by 75% and boosted daily transactions by +140% — hitting 12M per day. If this new step passes, the average tx cost could fall to just $0.005.
That would put BNB Chain in direct competition with $SOL and Base — both known for speed and affordability. And stakers don’t get left behind: with volume surging, APY should stay above 0.5%. Pas mal for a chain that many had written off as “just another exchange chain.”
Feels like BNB Chain is quietly preparing a second wind.
