Bitcoin already captured.
People still repeat the old mantra: "don’t worry, $BTC is decentralized, no one can control it." But look at the hashrate today: FoundryDigital 🇺🇸 on one side, Antpool 🇨🇳 (with its proxy friends) on the other… together they command nearly 70% of the network. Deux acteurs, that’s it.
What does this mean? A 51% attack isn’t some distant nightmare anymore — it’s technically already in their hands. The difference is just intent: they won’t pull the trigger unless it serves their interest. Until then, they quietly hold the steering wheel while the rest of us imagine freedom.
And don’t forget: you don’t even need a full 51% to mess with history. With 30–40% you can already reorganize blocks — just like we saw with $XMR not long ago.
So, economic security of $BTC? Paradoxical: safe, because it’s captured. But captured all the same.
